To apply for the S. Delois Mayes Scholarship, you must be a high school senior currently attending one of the three public high schools in the city of Suffolk, Virginia. Students applying for this scholarship may apply to any accredited college or university and major in any subject.

This healthcare scholarship was established in January 2016, by the S. Delois Mayes Scholarship Foundation as a memorial to Rosie Ellis-Fields, an exceptional woman who passed away on January 6, 2016, from complications of Lupus.

This business scholarship was established in December 2024, by the S. Delois Mayes Scholarship Foundation as a memorial to Alfred B. Marshall, Jr., an exceptional young man who passed away on June 8, 2007, in a tragic car accident. Alfred was a sixteen year old sophomore at Hampton High School at the time of his death.
The Alfred B. Marshall, Jr. Scholarship is $1,000. Additional scholarships may be awarded each year. The amount(s) may vary based on contributions and fundraising.
